Golf Tip – Fluffy Sand
July 14, 2015 Posted by Matt
Some courses feature soft and fine sand that appears fluffy. This type of sand is more difficult than, heavy sand, and the sand wedge will travel differently. To hit a good shot from fluffy sand, lean the shaft backward away from the ball a little more than usual to create more bounce on the sole of your sand wedge. Make a shallow swing by going back and through the ball, keeping the club head low to the sand and skimming the ball out rather than going down after it. In this sand there is always the danger of the club digging too deeply and getting stuck, so that the ball never gets up and out. Feel as if you are splashing the ball out instead of blasting the sand. Try this golf tip and your bunker game will improve.
