Lee and Collier Foreclosures Down
Foreclosures have declined in both Lee and Collier Counties for the first half of the year. According to the latest report by Realty-Trac, a California based research firm, foreclosures in Collier County fell 32 percent from 944 foreclosures in 2015 down to 642 in 2016. The Collier County report includes properties in Naples, Immokalee, Marco Island and the Greater Naples metro area. Only 1 in 311 of all properties in Collier were in some stage of foreclosure during the first half of the year.
In Lee County, which includes Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and Fort Myers, 2,390 properties were in foreclosure during the first 6 months of the year. This represents a 22 percent decline from last year when there were 3,069 properties in foreclosure.

At this point, the foreclosure activity in both Lee and Collier Counties is at pre-recession levels.
Nationwide, 1 in every 1,398 properties are in the foreclosure process. Florida still remains near the top of the list with 1 in every 764 homes in some sort of foreclosure state.
