Power – Golf Tip

powerIs power the most important part of your golf swing? You may see most golfers swinging hard at the ball trying to generate a lot of power and swing speed.  The lower handicappers end up in the fairway and so do the higher handicappers. The problem is the higher handicappers ends up in a fairway on another hole!  Sometimes, power will get you in trouble even if you are a good golfer.  Your best shot isn’t always the one where you can hit the ball the farthest.  Consider hitting a hybrid on narrow holes or where a driver might result in you landing in a bunker.  Just because you can hit your driver a long way doesn’t mean you should.

Practice Your Weaknesses

Practice Your WeaknessesI know it is probably the last thing you want to do, but if you want to improve your golf game you need to Practice Your Weaknesses.  Certainly it’s much more fun to go to the range and hit your favorite shots. You know, the ones you are really good at?  However, if you really want to lower your golf scores than you need to strengthen the areas of your game where you lose most of your strokes.

So which shots cause you the most problems? Is it your chipping, pitching, putting or your drives?  When you head to the practice area, focus most of your practice time on the areas you want to improve.

Most importantly, consider taking a lesson from a PGA Pro. They will help you maximize your practice time.

Why List With a Realtor?

WHY LIST WITH A REALTOR?

I’m often asked why I should list with a Realtor instead of trying to sell on my own.  Here are 10 reasons why you should consider working with a professional real estate consultant if you want to list your home for sale:

why-list1. Price

First, homeowners who sell their homes on their own typically generate $46,000 less than homeowners who work with a Realtor.  The typical FSBO (For Sale By Owner) home sold for $184,000 compared $230,000 for an agent assisted listing according to the latest numbers by NAR.

2.  Access to Buyers

Second, through the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), professional contacts and their own database of prospects, Realtors can help you reach the widest range of customers.

3.  Time

Also, realtors have the time and expertise to handle open houses, showings, inspection and the dozens of other tasks that would take you away from your work, family and regular routines.

4.  Marketing Expertise

And Realtors know the best ways to advertise to attract buyers. Plus, they can use the marketing muscle of their brokerage to promote your home.

5.  Sales Skills

Additionally, Realtors can evaluate your home and suggest improvements to get you maximum value, and they’re skilled at handling showing to generate a positive response.

6.  Negotiation Skills

Most importantly, with years of bargaining experience and expert understanding of the market, Realtors can help you close the deal at the price and terms you want.

7.  Experience Handling Paperwork

Buying or selling a home involves reams of paperwork that can be hard to understand.  Realtors have the time and expertise to explain and process hundreds of documents on your behalf.

8.  Knowledge of Neighborhoods

Furthermore, Real Estate Professionals know the good and the bad of local communities.  They can help you find the home in the best neighborhood that fits your lifestyle.

9.  Service Provider Recommendations

Another benefit is experts in the real estate industry can refer you to their network of top-quality lenders, lawyers, inspectors and repair people.  As a result, they will make sure you get the best service in every stage of your deal.

10.  Advice After Closing

Finally, an experienced real estate agent will continue to support you as questions pop up after the deal is done.

When you are ready to list your home for sale, let me be your guide!  While I am confident you will find I will provide excellent representation and maximize the value of your home, don’t take my work for it.  Here is what others have to say – View Testimonials

Homebuyer Trends

Homebuyer  Trends

Homebuyer TrendsAccording to the latest homebuyer trends provided by Bank of America, 75 percent of first-time home buyers are skipping the starter home and buying the property they really want.  Interestingly, they are putting their long-term needs ahead of their short term needs.  The result is these first time home buyers are willing to save more upfront to get what they want.

When it comes to Millennials who are first-time homebuyers, 66 percent of them expect some help from their parents.  Even though Millennials view home ownership with  adulthood (and who really wants to grow up) and success, most expect help.  Help could be in the form of financial assistance it could be help moving in.

Finally, 76 percent of  first-time buyers purchase a home for emotional reasons.  They either want a place to call their own or putt down roots.

Firm Wrists – Golf Tip

Firm WristsWhen you hit your chip or pitch shots you want to maintain firm wrists throughout the shot.  Often times, amateurs will take this concept to the extreme and they hold their writs too firm.  You want to be sure your wrists do not break down so you avoid flipping your hands at the ball.  Instead of keeping your hands rigid, you should use a light grip.  Make an easy swing and let the club pass your hands after contact as you normally do.  Your swing should feel natural instead of forced.

Head to the practice area and practice this shot if you want to lower your scores.

Golfing Great Arnold Palmer Dies at 87

Arnold Palmer

Golfing Great Arnold Palmer

Passes Away at Age 87

Arnold Palmer was a true legend of the game of golf.  He was an inspiration to many golfers throughout the world and he will be missed by all of us who love the game.

A true ambassador of the sport, Arnie left a lasting impression on everyone from PGA professionals to the average golfer throughout the world. From young to old, he has touched us all, for which we are grateful.

Throughout his career, he had 4 Green Jackets, 1 U.S. Open title, 2 Open Championships, 6 Ryder Cup teams and 62 PGA Tour wins.

As we say goodbye to a true competitor of the sport, here are some of my favorite Arnold Palmer quotes:

“Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated.”
“What other people may find in poetry or art museums, I find in the flight of a good drive.”
“I have a tip that can take five strokes off anyone’s golf game: it’s called an eraser.”
“Concentration comes out of a combination of confidence and hunger.”
“Success in golf depends less on strength of body than upon strength of mind and character.”
“Putting is like wisdom – partly a natural gift and partly the accumulation of experience.”
“I’ve always made a total effort, even when the odds seemed entirely against me. I never quit trying; I never felt that I didn’t have a chance to win.”
“The most rewarding things you do in life are often the ones that look like they cannot be done.”
“What do I mean by concentration? I mean focusing totally on the business at hand and commanding your body to do exactly what you want it to do.”
“You must play boldly to win.”

Thank you for all the memories.
